Eye Pressure

The eye pressure in normal eyes generally is 11-21 mmHg. As the pressure gets higher for longer, it can start to damage your optic nerve. In some people who have anemia, or sickle cell conditions, even lower eye pressures can cause damage. In the middle of your eye there is tissue that makes the fluid that fills your eye and brings nourishment to all the interior parts. That fluid flows to the front of your eye where it goes through a drainage channel back into the blood stream. If that drainage channel gets clogged or collapses with age, it can cause the fluid to build up inside your eye, raising the pressure.

Dedicated Surgery Centers & Laser Center

SureVision Eye Centers’ Affiliated Surgery Center has been awarded the certificate of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC). The award means that our surgical facility has met nationally recognized standards for quality care. In order to achieve accreditation, the surgery center must undergo an extensive on-site survey of their facilities and services. The survey team, composed of physicians, nurses and administrators evaluates all aspects of patient care.

SureVision is proud to be associated with LASIKPlus in St. Louis as a part of a wide range of refractive surgery that is offered by our surgeons. We use an IntraLase® femtosecond laser to create blade-less LASIK flaps. We have a Wavelight® Allegretto® 400 Excimer Laser, to provide the widest possible range of treatment for vision correction. The air in our state-of-the-art surgery suite is specially filtered to remove tiny particles that could affect your vision. The entire surgical environment is constantly monitored to maintain strict humidity and temperature levels. This is vital for the laser equipment to work properly and accurately.

Contact Lenses & Eye Products

You can buy the same contact lenses and glasses anywhere, but what matters is who takes care of you with them. Our contact lens specialists have the widest selection of lens styles, sizes, colors, and designs to give you the safest, most comfortable fit with the best vision possible. We routinely fit people with corneal scars, allergies, dry eyes, and degenerations like keratoconus. The technology for fitting contact lenses is now very advanced. SureVision uses the Pentacam, the most advanced instrument for measuring the contour of your corneas to give the best fit for your contact lenses.

Eye glasses, like contact lenses, come in many sizes and styles. Having the widest selection helps to give you an attractive frame that fits comfortably and looks sharp. SureVision has your eye doctor right there to be sure that your glasses are made to fit correctly and the lenses are optimal. If you have a problem, we are right there to be sure that it is solved and corrected to give you the best value when you buy glasses. Our Opticians are experienced, knowledgeable professionals who are there to care for your glasses year after year. They are certified by the American Board of Optometry. You don’t need to see a new person each time you come in. Our Opticians get to know you, and your eye needs.

SureVision is a participating provider for Vision Services Plan (VSP) and EyeMed.
