Dr. Tonya Bourn received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis following a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Illinois College. She also trained at the University of Western States in Nutrition and Functional Medicine and at the Institute for Functional Medicine. Dr. Bourn has been an independent practitioner and owner of clinics in Jacksonville and Springfield, Illinois since 1997. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, Ocular Wellness and Nutrition Society, and The Institute of Functional Medicine.
Specializing as a “Functional Optometrist”, Dr. Bourn’s philosophy is to provide full-scope optometry through root cause analysis. This patient-centered approach allows her to identify issues related to chronic illness and nutritional deficiencies that may be factors in your acute or chronic eye health issues. Her passion in the practice of Optometry is to listen to and learn from her patients. She will use her knowledge and skills to help focus and direct you on your journey to achieve a lifetime of your best possible vision.
In her free time, Dr. Bourn enjoys exercise, cooking and gardening. She is married and has two teenage boys who support her pursuit of knowledge and practice experience.
